# Resova - How do I link my account?

# Overview

To authenticate with Resova, you need an **API Key** generated from your Resova account.

### Prerequisites

* A fully active (paid) Resova account. Trial accounts cannot access the API.

### Instructions

#### Step 1: Generating your API key

1. Log in to your Resova account.
2. Go to **Settings > General Settings > Developer**.
3. Copy your **API Key**.
4. If you want to restrict API access by IP, go to **IP Whitelisting** in the same **Developer** section and add the IP addresses you'll be calling the API from. See [Nango's public IP addresses](/guides/platform/security#ip-allowlist) if Nango's proxy will be making the calls.

#### Step 2: Determine your region

Resova hosts separate datacenters per region. Most accounts are on the **US** datacenter (the default) — if your account is on the **EU** datacenter, select **EU** instead. If you're not sure which one you're on, check with your Resova account contact.

#### Step 3: Enter credentials in the Connect UI

Once you have your **API Key**:

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Resova.
2. Enter your **API Key** in the field provided.
3. Select your **Region**.
4. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.
